Fearfully and Wonderfully made!

OK! So first before we go into depths with this series we need to first look at what God says and to get this into our heads before we carry on.

In psalm 139 v 13 "I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Read that a couple of times and reflect. What does this mean for you? Maybe you already know that you are made beautiful in Gods sight or you have absolutely no idea you are. Don't worry this is where we come wholeheartedly to the Lord and receive of Him. Remember that our understanding doesn't come from us but God is the one who will reveal to you. As it says in proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Another verse that comes to mind about understanding is 2 Timothy 2:7 "Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. So until we can get this into our heads we will meditate. A couple of minutes take time to talk to God and thank Him for making you beautiful and giving you understanding you need.

So take all those negative thoughts and turn them around. You complain that you aren't thin or you don't have curves. Others maybe complaining that they have blemishes or they aren't the height they want to be. But don't you think that these thoughts will upset God? I will share when I was younger I would look at myself and feel so disheartened that I wasn't looking like that model on Victoria Secret or that singer that was so perfect looking. My mum would tell me how beautiful I was and when I said I don't feel it she would tell me how beautiful God made me and that I would be hurting God. I would get annoyed until one day God showed me that I was beautiful that I didn't have to be like the world. He wanted me to be a confident version of myself and who I am in Christ.
The answer to that question, would that hurt God? Is yes. As He has made you fearfully and wonderfully made. Don't you think that he has made you perfect in His sight? He has!!!and when these thoughts enter into our minds we are basically saying to the Lord he hasn't made us perfect. Look daughters of the King it's hard not to have negative thoughts about ourselves. That's our flesh, that is our vein thoughts. I found it difficult and still do, there are days worse than others but we can go to God and ask Him to show how He see us which is beautiful and he will reveal it to us. A couple of verses that I find help me to believe that He will answer my prayers is Mathew 21:22 "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will recieve" Another verse that help is John 11:22 "But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you." I hope these verses will help you to believe that God will reveal to you whatever you ask of Him. We can ask Him to help conquer our thoughts because we cannot do it in our own strength but we need Gods help in all things.

The next time you look in the mirror I want you to say out loud "I am fearfully and wonderfully made, I am perfect in Gods sight.
So now we have covered what God says, read Psalm 139 v 13-18 and look at how God has made you. I will write the psalm at the bottom of the page. I want you to copy it down in your journal and underneath the psalm write everytime you have a negative thought, write them down and put an X on the negative and then write the opposite. Hopefully this will help form the way you think about yourself. For example I dont like my hair - but God says He has made me fearfully and wonderfully made, He has made me perfect in His sight. See what I mean? I hope this will help you have ways to conquer your negative thoughts.

Please share with us. As I said in  the introduction we are here to learn from each other.
remember listen to what God says!!!
God bless and lots of love Hannah xx

Psalm 139 V 13-18
13. For you formed my inward parts
you covered me in my mothes womb.
14. I will praise you, for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made; marvelous
are your works; And that my soul knows
very well.
15. My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was made in secret, and
skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16. Your eyes saw my substance being yet
unformed. And in your book they all were
written. The days fashioned for me, when
as yet there were non of them.
17. How precious also are you thoughts
to me, O God! How great is the sum of them.
18 If I should count them, they would be more
in number that the sand: When I wake,
I am still with you.
(New King James Version)
